FEELIES REUNION. JULY.
From law professor Ken Katkin, via a mailing list that shall remain nameless:

After 15 years MIA, Bill Million has resurfaced and The Feelies have begun practicing together! Apparently they will play a few gigs in and around NJ over July 4 weekend, including a slot opening for Sonic Youth in Central Park! Below (ED NOTE: actually here) is a rare and exclusive photo from a rehearsal last week--possibly the first photo in which Bill Million appears in quite some time.

I sit here at my computer, mouth agape, drool dripping onto my International Law textbook.

The Feelies are the best live band I have ever seen - better than Fugazi, better than Neutral Milk Hotel, better than Sonic Youth or R.E.M. in their respective primes - and it sucks that I am definitely going to miss these shows. I sit for the Missouri Bar in late July, and am short of funds at the moment anyway. To the extent I have any discretionary income for this sort of thing, I am saving it for Young Marble Giants' American reunion date, assuming one actually happens happens (I keep hearing conflicting reports). For those of us who are not NYC-bound this Independence Day, our only hope is that Bill Million either sticks around for awhile, or at least takes time off from his locksmith job in Florida for more rehearsals and shows.
